Job Description

The role will provide overall management and coordination of SGB's Permits & Concessions process across the entire NPD lifecycle, including live and post-design projects, to meet agreed KPIs.

Scope of Responsibilities

You will be a key contributor within the Safran Seats GB Engineering Projects office, supporting projects across Delivery, Test, Prototyping, and Sustaining Production. Some UK and international travel (approx. 5%) to Group companies, technology partners, research institutes, and suppliers is expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate SGB's Permits & Concessions process across projects, acting as the primary contact for all related matters.
  • Oversee and ensure the delivery of activities by the Permits & Concessions team against KPIs.
  • Improve turnaround times for permits and concessions by facilitating functional inputs and approvals.
  • Act as a liaison between Engineering IPTs, Permits & Concessions team, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders to enhance knowledge sharing.
  • Respond proactively to production or assembly issues, communicating solutions effectively.
  • Ensure permits and concessions clearly define deviation requests and facilitate downstream activities like reviews and approvals.
  • Contribute to Engineering Change Requests for permanent solutions.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Capture lessons learned related to design and manufacturing issues.
  • Provide regular progress updates to engineering management.
  • Support the development of dashboards, tools, and KPIs related to permits and concessions.

Job Requirements

  • Self-reliant, proactive, motivated, with strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
  • Qualified with an accredited Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • Good knowledge of Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management.
  • Experience with PLM and ERP systems; familiarity with engineering design packages (e.g., Catia, Nastran).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data handling skills.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma tools is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving license and valid passport required.
  • Registered with the Engineering Council at IEng level and member of a professional body is preferred.
