Engineering Planner

Join our busy Engineering Department at ANZCO Foods as an Engineering Planner. This is a permanent full-time position reporting to our Engineering & Site Services Manager at our Canterbury plant on Seafield Road, Ashburton.
The purpose of this position is to manage planning and scheduling of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. Responsibilities include developing and implementing work order flow management standards, as well as preparing work scopes and estimates covering labour, materials, equipment, and services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the weekly forecasting plan is prepared and available on time
- Distribute weekly forecasting work packs promptly
- Generate and distribute reports necessary for effective planning and scheduling
- Prepare shutdown plans for process areas (including minor routine and major shutdowns)
- Conduct and coordinate planning meetings and briefing sessions
- Utilize resources efficiently for maintenance work
- Provide reports for internal and external stakeholders as required
- Plan maintenance team functions to ensure effective completion of work
- Promote a proactive safety culture within the team and with contractors
Skills and Experience Required:
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate or relevant Engineering qualifications (desirable)
- Supervisory or maintenance knowledge
- Minimum 5 years post-trade experience and 3 years in a similar or supervisory/leadership role
- Financial skills including estimating, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting
- Understanding of technical maintenance techniques
- Knowledge of production processes, including technical processes and equipment
- Experience in shutdown and maintenance planning
- Proficiency with CMMS, MS Project, and Excel
