Job Description

ENGINEERING MANAGER

Job Title: Engineering Manager

Location: London

Salary: £80,000+ depending on experience

Shift: Days

I'm working with a large-scale operational site looking to recruit a Engineering Manager to lead its engineering team and oversee all mechanical maintenance across the site.

You'll manage planned and reactive maintenance across heavy process plant and equipment, supporting engineers with complex mechanical faults and ensuring the site remains safe, reliable and operational.

You'll also develop the PPM programme, improve plant reliability and reduce breakdowns and downtime.

The role will involve leading and developing the engineering team, coordinating contractors, managing engineering projects and supporting plant upgrades, installations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Engineering Manager
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Previous engineering leadership or management experience
  • Strong mechanical technical knowledge and fault-finding skills
  • Experience managing engineering budgets and controlling maintenance costs
  • Experience planning and managing maintenance activities
Requirements for the Engineering Manager
  • Experience delivering engineering projects and plant improvements
  • Previous experience within a heavy industrial or process environment
  • Provide hands-on technical support when required
  • Maintain high health and safety standards
  • Coordinate contractors, spare parts and maintenance activities
Desirable Requirements for the Engineering Manager
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and rotating equipment
  • Experience managing major planned maintenance activities
  • Continuous improvement and plant reliability experience
  • Knowledge of statutory inspections and engineering compliance
