Job Description

ID Recruitment arerecruiting an Engineering Manager for a Sligo based client who are experts inhigh volume production of high precision technical moulded products.

The successfulcandidate will lead a newly created engineering department incorporating newproduct and process development, process optimisation and environment functions.You will also be responsible for investments on manufacturing machinery,tooling and other production equipment.

TheEngineering Manager will maintain and direct a team of highly qualified teammembers as well as liaise with other members of the group's management team ona daily basis.

Dutiesinclude;
  • Act as Strategic Manager of multipletechnologies to include all local site services (air, water, electricity)
  • Develop and implement the necessary systems, procedures and protocolsensuring that they meet and adhere to Quality Management System and DesignControl requirements
  • Comply with all the regulations relevant to the role regardingmaintenance of effective Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
  • Develop and implementation of complete asset management system includingmaintenance functions
  • Identify and selection of best value technologies
  • Prepare of annual operational and capital expenditure budgets
  • Manage of agreed budgets, hiring, day to day management and projectresourcing
  • Deliver of profitable on time product/project launch
  • Prioritise and drive the execution of multiple complex departmentprojects
  • Sponsor and support value improvement in the operation
  • Ensure the efficient and timely transfer of process knowledge fromproject personnel to manufacturing engineers and coordinator the training ofproduction team members on new processes and equipment
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement thatsupports our customer's quality policy
  • Initiate cross-functional partnerships to identify and resolveproduction/engineering issues
  • Managerial, leadership and employee development, ensuring adequatetraining is provided to satisfy all operational and health and safetyrequirements
TechnicalSkills and Qualifications:
  • Possess a minimum of Degree in Engineeringtogether with at least 5 years within manufacturing environment at a seniorlevel
  • Organised, highly motivated, enthusiastic, energetic individual with agoal focused attitude and able to work effectively with other functional areas
  • Demonstrate expertise in project management
  • Possess strong competencies in resources management in a complexdemanding environment gained from experience in high volume manufacturingenvironment
  • Technically astute, numerate and possessing excellent analytical ability
  • A highly confident team player with a quality focused approach and aninnovative approach to problem solving demonstrating a "Right firsttime" approach and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills dealing with people and situations at alllevels
  • Strong People Management Skills, written and verbal communication skillsalong with effective presentation skills
  • Knowledge of latest plastic injection mould tool, metal stamping andautomation technology
  • A proven knowledge of technology deployment
  • Possess a good understanding and application of, quality PSW/PPAP/APQP,lean principles Measures effectiveness and has a strong business and financial acumen
