Engineering Manager

Your New Job:

You'll step into a people-focused engineering leadership role, reporting directly to the Senior Operations & Engineering Manager. You'll be part of a wider engineering management team, working closely with both in house engineers and external service contractors. This role combines technical decision making on the production floor with structured leadership and team development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate engineering activities to maintain equipment reliability and performance
• Oversee engineering support to ensure production targets are achieved
• Prepare and control engineering budgets within your area
• Own and develop the preventative maintenance programme for production assets
• Ensure maintenance schedules and records are up to date within the CMMS
• Lead, coach, and manage engineering staff, conducting ongoing performance reviews
• Promote safe engineering practices and participate in audits
• Oversee service contractors, contracts, and site visits
• Maintain accurate compliance records for engineering activitiesManage engineering spares and cost control
• Liaise with other departments to prioritise work and coordinate activities

What Are We Looking For?

• Trade qualified engineer (such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation) with practical, hands on experience
• Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams and service contractors
• Strong planning, organisation, and budget management skills
• Proven ability with preventative maintenance and CMMS
• Experience troubleshooting Siemens S7 PLCs and automated systems
• Knowledge of high speed packing machinery, TIG welding, stainless steel fabrication
• Experience in delivering energy efficiency or sustainability projects
• Strong communication and people management abilities
