This site has recently undergone a multi million pound upgrade, including:
- A new Cold Mill
- Expanded warehousing facilities

As Engineering Manager, you'll shape and deliver the site's maintenance excellence programme, while playing a key strategic role in future capital expenditure planning. You'll also sit on the Operational Leadership Team, influencing the long term performance, reliability, and development of the entire operation.
This is a high impact, high visibility role ideal for someone who thrives on challenge, innovation, and leading in a safety critical manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Works Manager, you will:
- Lead, develop and inspire a large, multidisciplinary engineering team (100+).
- Drive implementation of asset reliability programmes, FMEA processes, and maintenance effectiveness strategies.
- Champion engineering governance, ensuring all statutory and compliance standards are met or exceeded.
- Build and implement structured planned maintenance schedules, including major annual shutdowns and refurbishment works.
- Manage the site's annual maintenance and repair budget, ensuring resources are deployed effectively.
- Play a key role in shaping future capital expenditure plans aligned with operational growth.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, enhancing asset performance, OEE, availability and reliability.
- Lead the development of an inspiring apprenticeship and talent pipeline programme, acting as a coach and mentor.
- Collaborate extensively with cross functional leaders, contributing to site safety, performance, financial and strategic objectives.
- A Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or relevant Engineering discipline (Chartered or working toward is ideal).
- Extensive experience within medium to heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Proven leadership experience managing large engineering & craft teams.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance excellence, reliability engineering, and improvement methodologies.
- Solid understanding of KPIs such as OEE, loss analysis, and how maintenance impacts operational performance.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence at a senior level.
- A commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
- The ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver results.
