Built by a team of ex-Uber, WeWork and Amazon builders, Natter has selectively hired a team of exited founders, specialist domain experts and SaaS unicorn founding team members. They are now looking for an additional team hire: an Engineering Manager.
Natter is already being used by some of the world's largest companies, ranging from big four consultancies like PwC, institutional financial services providers like Legal and General, to technology innovators like Miro.
Natter's conversational AI platform allows tens of thousands of users to simultaneously share ideas and feedback through real-time video conversations. Its uniquely scalable tech allows anyone with a smartphone to, literally, have a say on the most important decisions - ranging from workplace strategy to new product offerings.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Engineering Manager at Natter, you'll:
- Lead multiple small, fast-moving teams working in parallel
- Propose & implement process changes to maximize team output and predictability
- Own the teams' delivery outcomes, ensuring projects ship on time
- Work across departments to keep plans aligned and remove blockers before they fester
- Work with leadership to develop hiring plans and conduct interviews to grow our team of high-performing engineers
- Drive performance and accountability by tracking individual and team OKRs, performing 1:1s, participating in individual performance reviews and implementing feedback loops
- Have 7+ years experience in software development, with 2-3 years managing engineers
- Have run multiple teams working on inter-connected systems
- Are able to participate meaningfully in architecture & system design discussions
- Know your way around AWS and IAC tools like Terraform or CDK
- Have a bias for action and don't wait for permission to fix broken things
- Care about impact and reliability, not just shipping code
- Demonstrable experience developing highly available distributed systems
- Experience with JVM (Java, Kotlin, Scala), AWS (CDK, IAC Terraform) & ReactJS
- Experience in and enjoyment of early stage/startup environments
