Engineering Manager

We are looking for an Engineering Manager in our Product Engineering team. The role sits within our Loans Engineering Group, leading one of the teams responsible for the platform our customers use to apply for Funding Circle's term loan products.

Role responsibilities

• You will be accountable for the successful execution of the prioritised roadmap for your area, delivering on business and technology objectives.
• Level up your team's product development maturity to achieve engineering excellence and progress towards the target architecture.
• Lead with these capabilities:
  • Team Builder: cultivate a collaborative, inclusive environment; empower engineers to excel; maintain open communication; resolve conflicts constructively; foster mutual respect.
  • Strategic Driver: prioritise work, plan capacity, ensure timely delivery; implement robust engineering processes; promote strategic technology adoption; establish clear policies for sustained growth.
  • Funding Circle Advocate: represent Funding Circle at industry events and contribute to brand growth and community relationships.
  • Strong Collaborator: build partnerships with business stakeholders and share ownership of outcomes.
  • Knowledge Sharer: mentor and share expertise to empower stakeholders and engineers.

What we're looking for

• Prior or current experience in management or technical leadership (ideally with at least 1 year in a management role).
• Track record of delivering mission-critical, high-value products and services using agile methodologies with pragmatic leadership and delivery.
• Strong understanding of engineering performance metrics and how to drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to embody Funding Circle's values and positively lead a close-knit team.
