Job Description

My client is a world-renowned packaging company and a leading provider within the corrugated packaging sector in the UK. They are currently seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team at their flagship site. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the site's engineering strategy, lead CI projects, and support the ongoing investment in new machinery and automation

Engineering Manager

£60,000 - £70,000

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all engineering and maintenance activities on-site
  • Leading and developing a skilled team of engineers and technicians across shifts
  • Managing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
  • Ensuring maximum uptime of production machinery including Casemakers, Die Cutters, Printers, and Gluers
  • Negotiate service contracts.
  • Manage the departmental budget and look at cost saving opportunities
  • Driving continuous improvement projects and supporting CAPEX investments
  • Collaborating with production, quality, and safety teams to meet operational goals
  • Ensuring full compliance with H&S, regulatory standards, and company procedures

Essential:

  • Proven experience in an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, or Lead Engineer role
  • Strong background in mechanical and electrical systems within a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of packaging/food machinery or similar high-speed production equipment
  • Level 3 or higher qualification in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or above ideally HND.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
