We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer (Pre-Sales & Execution) to join our team. You will report to the Head of Process Engineering and be responsible for creating designs, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and overseeing project execution from detailed design to commissioning. You will also manage smaller projects and support and mentor junior engineers.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Supporting sales team with client visits and presentations.
- Translating client requirements into technical solutions.
- Sizing process, equipment, and piping.
- Developing enquiry stage P&IDs.
- Developing key assumptions, execution plans, and scope boundaries; costing equipment and components.
- Reviewing enquiry documents with multiple functions and obtaining clarifications.
- Supporting functions to prepare scope and costings.
- Consolidating costs and developing overall execution plans and timelines.
- Preparing technical and commercial proposals aligned with scope of supply.
- Maintaining proposal documentation to ensure compliance with company standards.
During the Pre-Sales phase, focus on:
- Design and cost accuracy
- Scope management
- Timely proposal delivery
During Execution, your responsibilities include:
- Supporting project management with client interactions and change control.
- Producing designs for P&IDs, equipment lists, datasheets, and process descriptions.
- Requesting quotations, reviewing bids, and recommending vendors.
- Reviewing design documents with teams and suppliers.
- Participating in commissioning, testing, and initial production support.
- Maintaining project documentation for compliance.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience leading process and equipment bids and proposals.
- Proven experience in hygienic process engineering within food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, or personal care sectors.
- Ability to develop process designs independently, including P&IDs and balances.
- Skilled in process capacity calculation and equipment sizing.
- Knowledge of QSHE standards.
- Experience managing small projects and leading teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally 2-3 times per year.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
