Engineer (Multiskilled Mechanical/Electrical)

Salary: £47,260 per annum

Location: Norwich

Staffing Innovations is partnering with a first-class manufacturing client at the forefront of its industry. With continued investment and expansion, they are growing their Engineering team and seeking a talented Multiskilled Engineer to join their ranks. This role involves maintenance, tool room responsibilities, and manufacturing engineering. Working closely with Departmental Managers and Team Leaders, the successful candidate will take ownership of first-line maintenance, repairs, and servicing of manufacturing machinery and ancillary equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planned maintenance of manufacturing machinery, including safety systems.
  • Provide reactive, preventive, and corrective maintenance of production and utility equipment.
  • Effective fault finding and problem-solving.
  • Source and identify replacement parts with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet business priorities.
  • Complete work assigned by the Asset Care Engineering Manager in line with quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment in cooperation with other shift workers.
  • Use tools correctly and adhere to all health and safety protocols.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Formal health and safety awareness and training in relevant legislation.
  • Mechanical qualification at an approved national competence level.
  • Experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
  • FMCG manufacturing experience (advantageous).
  • Training in quality processes and process control.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Proactive in fault finding (hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems).
  • Experience in business improvement techniques and continuous improvement projects.
Additional Information
  • Shift Pattern: 24/7 rotating shifts - 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am, every 2 weeks (12-hour shifts with 1-hour paid break).
  • Holiday: 23 days per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
  • Pension: 4% employee and minimum 4% employer contribution.

  • Training: Full induction and plant familiarisation (4-6 weeks) plus ongoing training as required.
