Engagement Co-facilitator Volunteer - Victim Support

Last year, 786,574 people were offered information and support by Victim Support (VS). As a VS Community Engagement Volunteer, you will help us reach even more victims of crime by raising awareness of our services in the local community.

Office base: Victim Support, St Johns House, Weston Road, Stafford, Staffordshire, ST16 3RZ

Time Commitment

3 or more hours per month, Minimum commitment of 12 months

About the Role

As a Community Engagement Volunteer in Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent, you will work within the Domestic Abuse Team to promote Victim Support services across the area.

Your role will include:

  • Promoting Victim Support services to partner agencies across Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire
  • Attending community and partner engagement events
  • Raising awareness of Victim Support and domestic abuse services
  • Delivering training sessions to professionals to increase awareness of domestic abuse

This role will help you develop your communication, presentation, and organisational skills, as well as deepen your knowledge of domestic abuse.

You will also have opportunities to:

  • Attend quarterly meetings with other local volunteers
  • Take part in community events to promote Victim Support services
What We Ask of You
  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Be able to volunteer at least 4 hours per month
  • Commit to the role for at least 12 months
  • Complete a Community Engagement workbook
  • Undertake an enhanced DBS check
  • Complete police vetting
  • Provide two satisfactory references

Expenses

Victim Support volunteers are entitled to claim out of pocket expenses, including travel and lunch, when volunteering.
