Summary

We're hiring for a new role in our London and South region for a Divisional SHE Advisor to join our team. This role will support the region to implement and maintain an 'industry leading' and compliant Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental management system.

This person will work closely with our team in our Farringdon office but also support our OSM Ventilation facility in Hailsham with occasional travel. They will support the operational teams in the region while reporting into the functional lead.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Provide Health and Safety leadership and guidance to ensure that the Safety First and Foremost message is visible and alive throughout all the activities undertaken within the region.
  • Support personnel to understand their specific SHE Policy duties, and in addressing any SHE matters causing a concern.
  • Ensure that pro-active and reactive inspections of all assigned workplaces are regularly undertaken and there is compliance to the Company SHE Policy / Procedures.
  • Make recommendations to both employed and Supply Chain members to correct and/or improve the overall SHE performance and that actions are effectively implemented.
  • Monitor and report on project SHE performance and support the DHSM to produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports to communicate overall Group and Divisional SHE performance.
  • Undertake investigations as directed by the DHSM and report in line with the 2-2-2 process. Review SHE related accidents / incidents and ensure that appropriate levels of investigations are carried out.
  • Support the application of the Health and Safety Management System. Interface with Project Site based SHE Advisors and arrange regular meeting to cascade information.
  • Support the development of processes and solutions for known SHE problems/concerns and report to DHSM on innovation to ensure consistency across the regions. Ensure campaigns are implemented as necessary to improve performance.
  • Support the Supply Chain SHE performance reviews. Ensure SHE alerts and knowledge shares are communicated to the NGB supply chain.
  • Support work winning bid teams in bid submissions and completion of pre-qualification questionnaires and ensure SHE information is correct.

To be successful in this role:

We need someone that has proven experience in this this role or similar and comes from a Construction, Engineering or Manufacturing industry.

We're also looking for the following:

  • NEBOSH General qualification is essential. If you have NVQ Level 6, fantastic, but if not we can develop you to that level.
  • Good knowledge of SHE legislation and an understanding of Industry Leading 'Best Practice' and/or recognised standards, within relevant sector
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OHSAS 45001)
  • Experience in managing teams and supporting management on a national or regional scale is desirable
  • It would be desirable if you currently have security clearance for the strategic regulatory sector or would be able to get this
