Are you a junior to mid level Employment Lawyer looking to build your career in the sports and media sector? This is a rare opportunity to join a market leading boutique law firm widely recognised as a leader in the football industry, acting for the significant majority of Premier League clubs, numerous English Football League clubs and key domestic and international stakeholders.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a 1 4 PQE Employment Lawyer to join a growing and ambitious employment law team at the forefront of professional sport.
You will undertake high quality, varied and intellectually stimulating employment law work across the sports and media sectors, advising on both contentious and non contentious matters. The work is genuinely diverse and offers exposure to complex, high profile issues at the highest level of professional sport.
Key responsibilities- Advising Premier League and EFL clubs, federations, leagues, players, athletes and agents on a broad spectrum of employment law matters
- Handling both contentious and non contentious employment matters
- Advising on football transfers, transactional documentation and associated regulatory issues
- Drafting and negotiating service agreements for senior executives and high profile individuals including managers, coaches, sporting directors and players
- Representing clients in employment related disputes
- Supporting corporate, commercial, regulatory, litigation and immigration colleagues on employment related aspects of wider transactions
To be considered for this Employment Lawyer position, you will ideally have:
- 1 4 years' PQE (candidates outside this range with exceptional experience will be considered)
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales
- Strong experience across both contentious and non contentious employment law
- Employment Tribunal experience (desirable but not essential)
- An interest in or exposure to sports and/or media related employment matters (advantageous but not required)
- Direct exposure to some of the highest profile clients in world sport
- Mentorship from leading practitioners in sports employment law
- Early responsibility and client contact
