Employment - Senior Solicitor / Associate (2+ PQE)

Location: Edinburgh
Practice Area: Employment Law (Contentious & Advisory)

A leading Scottish law firm is seeking a Senior Solicitor or Associate to join its well-established Employment team in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for an employment lawyer with strong tribunal experience to develop their career within a highly regarded, busy practice.

The Opportunity

You will join one of the largest and most experienced employment law teams in Scotland, working on a diverse and high quality caseload from day one. The role offers significant exposure to Employment Tribunal litigation, including complex and high profile claims, alongside advisory work for employers across a broad range of sectors.

You will be supported by experienced accredited specialists and benefit from structured advocacy training, with clear opportunities to develop your tribunal and appellate advocacy skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising employers on day to day employment law and HR matters
  • Managing Employment Tribunal litigation, including drafting ET1s, ET3s and related pleadings
  • Taking and drafting witness statements
  • Conducting legal research and providing clear, practical advice
  • Advocacy before Employment Tribunals and Employment Appeal Tribunals
  • Drafting employment contracts, handbooks, policies and procedures
  • Advising on dispute resolution, including mediation
  • Supporting corporate teams on employment aspects of transactions (including TUPE)
  • Delivering seminars, training and presentations
  • Participating in business development and client relationship initiatives
Candidate Profile
  • 2+ years' PQE with solid experience in Employment Tribunal work
  • Strong interest in contentious employment law and advocacy
  • Excellent communication, drafting and organisational skills
  • Commercially aware with a client focused approach
  • Able to manage a varied workload independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive and enthusiastic about business development
