Job Description

THE FIRM

A leading full-service law firm based in the City.

THE ROLE

Within the Employment team, a growing, market-leading team with an international focus, is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate to join on a 6-month FTC basis.

While workloads will vary, you will typically spend around 80% of your time on contentious and advisory work and 20% on transactional support.

Typical work includes:

  1. Contentious Advice
    • Senior exits and settlement agreements
    • Restrictive covenants breaches, planning team moves
    • Other contentious advice (e.g., grievances and disciplinaries)
  2. Other Advisory
    • Change projects (e.g., redundancy and TUPE processes)
    • Contracts, bonus schemes, and handbooks
    • Business immigration
    • Other ad hoc advice (e.g., gender pay gap reporting, holiday pay, furlough)
  3. Disputes
    • Tribunal litigation (e.g., unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, discrimination)
    • High court litigation (e.g., team moves, bonus claims)
    • Investigations
    • Strike ballots and union activities
  4. Training and Horizon Scanning
  5. Cross Departmental and/or Transactional Support
    • Corporate: deals, investee company exits, IPOs
    • Commercial: outsourcings, GDPR
    • Real Estate: TUPE issues
    • High court litigation (e.g., team moves, bonus claims)

ABOUT YOU

An adaptable Employment lawyer with approximately 3-6 years PQE, with outstanding academic credentials, capable of advising on all aspects of Employment law.
