About Arden University

We are an aspirational and multi-award-winning university, delivering rapid growth with ambitious plans to disrupt the HE sector through our passion for innovation and digital education. Our vision is to become the first-choice university for career-focused lifelong learners worldwide, ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access higher education.

There has never been a more exciting time to join Arden University, as we expand into new disciplines, forge worldwide partnerships, and expand our locations.

About our School

Our School of Psychology has grown significantly over the last few years, and our journey continues. Our academic team brings together extensive experience from academia, professional practice, and industry. Our goal is to equip our students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, ensuring they are fully prepared for employment upon graduation.

About the Opportunity

As a Board member with expertise in educational psychology and applied learning contexts, you will bring practical, sector specific insight into how psychological theory is applied to support learning, development, inclusion, and wellbeing across educational and related settings.

You will help ensure that teaching, learning, and student development reflect how educational psychology operates in practice, including the realities of working with learners, educators, families, and multidisciplinary systems.

This role spans a range of education and learning focused sectors, including:

  • Educational psychology services and local authorities
  • Schools, colleges, further education and higher education providers
  • Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services
  • Children's services, youth services, and early intervention
  • Education policy, advisory, and support organisations

This is a strategic advisory role, not a formal governance position. Your contribution will inform curriculum development and employability strategy, helping prepare graduates for educational psychology, learning support, and applied practitioner roles, while supporting employers facing workforce pressures, skills gaps, and recruitment challenges.

About You

As an Employer Advisory Board member, you bring current, real world experience from educational or learning focused environments, including insight into:

  • How educational psychology is applied in practice
  • The psychological, social, and systemic factors influencing learning and development
  • Skills, behaviours, and professional competencies required in educational settings
  • Common gaps between graduate preparation and workplace expectations
  • How policy, regulation, and practice are shaping workforce demand

You act as a translation layer between professional practice and academia-helping the School understand what effective, ethical, and impactful educational psychology looks like in real world contexts.

What's in it for you?

At Arden, you will become a part of a passionate and dedicated team who are committed to removing unnecessary barriers to learning and making education more accessible.

  • Help shape the future of higher education and workforce development
  • Influence curriculum design to ensure it reflects current and future industry needs
  • Support the employability and social mobility of our diverse student body
  • Collaborate with academic leaders and fellow industry experts to drive innovation and impact
  • Gain experience of cross-sector collaboration to support social impact
Our Values

Stand out, Progressive, Accessible, Resourceful, Kindness, reflect who we are as an institution, a team and as individuals. If they also reflect you and you are excited by the chance to be the driving, creative force within a growing business, we want to hear from you.

There has never been a more exciting time to join Arden University, as we expand into new disciplines and locations.

Closing Date: 10th February
