The Employee Relations Manager role in the UK & Ireland Field Employee Relations team focuses on ensuring fair, respectful treatment of every employee, in line with Amazon's core business values and policies.
This full time position requires up to 30% travel primarily within the UK and Ireland, with occasional trips to Europe. The base location can be flexibly chosen within the UK.
Key Job Responsibilities- Conduct and oversee employee relations and vulnerability assessment programs.
- Analyze, diagnose, design, and revise people programs, policies, and practices to sustain positive employee relations.
- Define, develop, and maintain collective consultation and communication arrangements as required for the ongoing evolution of the business, ensuring compliance with UK Employment Law and Amazon ER policies.
- Act with a sense of urgency, bias for action, and a desire to thrive in a dynamically growing environment.
- Conduct reviews of employment policies to align them with Amazon's objectives and ensure compliance with employment law.
- Take ownership, play a supporting role in significant ER projects and participate in national and international projects.
- Work proactively to enhance the employee experience by identifying and addressing concerns early, de escalating and resolving issues before they reach criticality.
- Serve as a project manager for proactive initiatives that improve employee relations and engagement.
- Address complex, highly sensitive critical employee relations issues with limited time, balancing reactive response with proactive efforts.
- Experience in employee relations, labor relations, human relations or labor/employment law.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree, law degree, or other specialized training in employee relations.
- Solid understanding of UK employment and labor laws.
- Direct experience in managing ERB relationships or employee forums in UK consultation environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills to establish partnerships and influence senior leadership, stakeholders, peers, and employees at all levels across a large, dispersed, and culturally diverse organization.
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills in ambiguous environments, with capacity to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to closure.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, international organizational structures successfully.
- Experience facilitating employee listening sessions/focus groups and designing and delivering training programmes.
- Experience working with large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to identify root causes, recognise patterns, and develop creative, innovative solutions for complex problems; ability to develop executive level messaging, reports, and presentations for PXT and business leaders.
