Nuffield Health is the charity that's building a healthier nation, one day at a time. From award-winning hospitals and leisure facilities to flagship community programmes - we'll do whatever it takes to look after the UK's wellbeing. It starts with passion and commitment to quality. It starts with you.

At Nuffield Health, we're not just a charity - we're on a mission to build a healthier nation. Our people are at the heart of that mission, and we're looking for a talented Employee Relations (ER) Manager to help us create a workplace where colleagues feel supported, valued, and empowered.

In this role, you'll provide expert advice, coaching, and support to managers on a wide range of complex ER matters, helping to ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes. You'll be the trusted HR lead for organisational change projects, from redundancy and TUPE to changes in terms and conditions, always balancing commercial awareness with compassion and ethical decision-making.

As an ER Manager you will:

  • Lead on complex and high-risk ER cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, capability issues, and investigations.

  • Support managers during sensitive meetings, often involving senior leaders.

  • Act as a key HR partner in organisational change, including mergers, acquisitions, and TUPE transfers.

  • Build line manager capability through targeted training, coaching, and guidance.

  • Analyse ER trends and working collaboratively with HRBPs to develop proactive solutions.

  • Stay up to date with employment law and best practice to ensure a high-quality, consistent service.

  • Support complex investigations arising from Speak Up concerns.

To succeed as an ER Manager, we are looking for:

  • CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in an ER role, ideally in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • A confident decision-maker who can balance people priorities with business needs.

  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working under pressure.

This is more than just an ER role - it's a chance to make a real impact across the UK's largest healthcare charity. You'll be part of a supportive HR Operations team, working closely with senior leaders and making a tangible difference to our people's working lives.

Helping you feel good.

We want you to love coming to work, feeling healthy, happy and valued. That's why we've developed a benefits package with you in mind. Here, you can choose from a range of fitness, lifestyle, health and fitness wellbeing rewards, such as free gym membership, health assessments, retail discounts and pension options.

At Nuffield Health, we take care of what's important to you.
