Overview

This is a transformative moment for the Employability Service at the University of Greenwich. Through the Curriculum Shape refresh project, we're placing employability at the core of every student's academic and university experience. We're enhancing every programme to ensure students receive tailored career support.

The Employability Skills Team plays a vital role in this journey. We deliver high-quality, personalised support to students while collaborating with academic colleagues to embed impactful employability content into the curriculum. This ensures career development is not an optional extra-it's an integral part of the learning experience.

By offering one-to-one guidance, skills workshops, digital careers resources, and access to real-world experiences, we're creating a seamless support system with Faculties that empowers students to explore their potential and take confident steps towards their future.

Role and Responsibilities

• Deliver workshops, develop learning materials, and provide guidance to students, ideally in an education setting, engaging students in preparing for their future careers.
• Offer one-to-one guidance, run skills workshops, provide digital careers resources, and connect students with real-world experiences.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues to embed employability content into the curriculum and ensure career development is integrated into the learning experience.
• Support the delivery of a comprehensive Employability Skills service in partnership with faculties and professional services staff.
• Hit the ground running and contribute to a fixed-term maternity cover, bringing experience in workshop delivery and learning materials development.

Location and Term

Based at the University's historic Medway campus, with regular travel and work at the University's Maritime Greenwich campus in London. The Employability Skills Advisor will work in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering and Science to provide a comprehensive, innovative, and impactful service.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience delivering workshops and developing learning materials in an education setting is desirable.
• Experience providing guidance to students and engaging them in preparing for their future careers.
• Ability to work with academic and professional services staff to embed employability content into the curriculum.

Employment and Visa

Employment Visa: Under the UK Government Points Based System scheme this role does not meet the criteria to be sponsored for a Skilled Worker Route application.
