Duties & Responsibilities

(Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)

• Must be in good standing with DCSD Attendance Policies
• Ability to work with diverse groups of students with various needs
• Ability to redirect and diffuse student behavior
• Ability and willingness to work with students who attend the DCSD Summer Learning elementary school program
• Ability to supervise groups of 15 students
• Ability to accept direction from site coordinator
• Ability to be outside for long periods of time
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Personal qualities: nurture, good attendance, patience, dependability
• Other duties as assigned by Site Coordinator
• Must be willing to support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students
• Good attendance and punctuality to perform duties successfully

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, squat, push, pull and lift 50 lbs
• Ability to be on feet most of the day

Special Qualification Desired

• Preferred experience working with online curriculum
• Positive attitude toward ALL students
• Ability to work with a diverse student population
• Willingness to work with online instruction technology
• Willingness to implement the Summer Learning Program as designed
• Ability to troubleshoot technology problems
