Field Based Electrical Engineer - South Wales
FSG, a leading facilities maintenance business in South Wales, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Electrician to join our team. With a diverse portfolio of clients in healthcare, education, leisure, hospitality, and retail, we pride ourselves in our year on year growth and with some exciting new clients onboarding in 2024.
The Role:
As an Electrical Engineer/Electrician, you will contribute to our business growth by providing reactive and planned maintenance services in the South Wales region. Be an active member of our projects team, delivering installation works in commercial and industrial settings.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00, with flexibility required for start and finish times, out-of-hours work, and participation in an on-call rota. Being a reactive facilities maintenance business, each day brings unique challenges, occasionally necessitating additional hours to meet customer demands.
Given our involvement with sectors involving vulnerable individuals, successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Key Responsibilities:
Install new equipment and systems in commercial and industrial premises.
Carry out electrical testing duties such as EICR's, EIC's and MWC's.
Conduct routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks, reactive works, and small projects independently or as part of a team.
Respond to callouts and breakdowns, undertaking remedial repairs and replacements.
Diagnose and rectify faults on systems and equipment in commercial settings.
Proactively report faults.
Provide material lists and time estimates for remedial works.
Occasionally support teammates outside your core discipline and participate in the on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Gold card holder or evidence of equivalent electrical installation qualification and industry experience.
Proficiency in BSth Edition Wiring Regulations.
L3 Inspection & Testing Qualification, such as 2391 or 2394/5 (or equivalent), and relevant experience highly desirable.
Ability to follow Risk Assessments & Method Statements.
Computer literacy, including MS Outlook and other MS Office programs.
Strong attention to detail.
Customer-focused with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
Experience in a mobile workforce setting.
Excellent communication skills.
Valid driving license.
IPAF certification (desirable).
PASMA certification (desirable).
Solar PV qualified and experienced (desirable)
EESS qualified and experienced (desirable)
