Electrical Technician - Substations

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing and repair of substation equipment and associated electrical infrastructure in accordance with approved procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install HV and LV electrical systems.
• Install switchgear, transformers and protection equipment.
• Perform cable installation and terminations.
• Execute maintenance and fault-finding activities.
• Complete inspection and testing works.
• Assist with outage and switching programmes.
• Maintain accurate site records and test certificates.
• Operate in accordance with ESB/EirGrid safety rules.
• Participate in emergency response activities as required.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician.
• Full driving licence.
• Safe Pass.
• QA/QC certification preferred.
• Experience in HV substations desirable.
• Strong practical electrical skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
• Safety-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently and within project teams.
