Electrical Project Manager

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee the electrical scope of works on a major construction project in Blyth. This role will involve managing electrical installation activities from planning through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for coordinating electrical subcontractors, engineering teams, supervisors and other key stakeholders, driving productivity and ensuring the efficient delivery of all electrical works. Experience delivering large-scale electrical projects is essential, with data centre experience highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all electrical installation activities across the project.
• Oversee electrical design coordination and technical interfaces with engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress against programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Develop and manage daily and weekly work plans to maximise productivity.
• Coordinate labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor resources to maintain project progress.
• Manage project milestones, identify potential delays and implement corrective actions.
• Lead and mentor project teams, including electrical engineers, package managers, supervisors and foremen.
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
• Coordinate electrical works with other trades to ensure safe and efficient site operations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and project quality standards.
• Review and approve project documentation, foremen reports and outstanding action registers.
• Lead weekly coordination meetings with site management, safety, quality assurance and BIM teams.
• Prepare weekly project reports covering progress, incidents, programme updates, 12-week lookaheads, procurement forecasts, variations and potential delays.
• Monitor procurement schedules, including long-lead electrical equipment and materials.
• Maintain accurate meeting minutes, assign actions and ensure outstanding issues are resolved promptly.
• Identify and manage project risks, variations and disruptions, communicating these to the relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years' experience managing large-scale electrical projects.
• Proven experience managing major electrical installation contracts within complex construction environments.
• Experience delivering projects such as data centres, commercial offices, retail developments, hotels or educational facilities.
• Data centre construction experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of electrical installation, project planning, procurement and construction delivery.
• Demonstrable experience managing subcontractors, site teams, project budgets and construction programmes.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and drive performance in a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong commitment to health and safety, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
