Job Description

As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be tasked with the following:

Electrical Maintenance

• Perform planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Work with motors, drives, control panels, sensors, PLC systems, and associated electrical components.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Carry out installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and upgrades.

Fault Finding & Troubleshooting

• Identify root causes of electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring faults and recommending solutions.
• Use testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic tools.

Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Preventative Maintenance & Reliability

• Support and execute preventative maintenance schedules.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Assist in improving equipment reliability and performance.

Collaboration

• Work closely with mechanical engineer, production teams, and other departments.
• Support production teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Participate in maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Electrical Maintenance Engineer should have:

• Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering)
• Strong electrical fault finding skills
• Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial electrical systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings
• Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or facilities environment
• Strong problem solving skills

Desirable

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.)
• Experience with automation systems
• Experience with CMMS systems
• Multi skilled (basic mechanical knowledge)
