Job DescriptionAs the Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be tasked with the following:
Electrical Maintenance- Perform planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Work with motors, drives, control panels, sensors, PLC systems, and associated electrical components.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Carry out installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and upgrades.
- Identify root causes of electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring faults and recommending solutions.
- Use testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Support and execute preventative maintenance schedules.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Assist in improving equipment reliability and performance.
- Work closely with mechanical engineer, production teams, and other departments.
- Support production teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
- Participate in maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
A successful Electrical Maintenance Engineer should have:
- Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering)
- Strong electrical fault finding skills
- Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial electrical systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or facilities environment
- Strong problem solving skills
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.)
- Experience with automation systems
- Experience with CMMS systems
- Multi skilled (basic mechanical knowledge)
- Competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
