Job Description

Electrical & Automation Engineer - Zaltbommel (Den Bosch Area)

Hi! We are Chemploy!

Welcome to Chemploy, where engineering meets passion for sustainability (and good coffee)! We are a team of dedicated engineers, technicians, and visionaries committed to making an impact in the chemical, food, life sciences, and high-tech industries.

We thrive on out-of-the-box thinking while delivering real-world engineering solutions. If you're an experienced Electrical & Automation Engineer, who enjoys a mix of hands-on work, design, and problem-solving, this might be your next challenge.

What is the job about?

As an Electrical & Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in engineering, designing, and commissioning industrial automation systems for process skids and pilot plants. Your work will directly contribute to projects in fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and process intensification.

Examples of your work:

  • Designing & selecting electrical equipment for process skids in pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, and related industries.
  • Developing electrical schematics using EPLAN, WScad or similar, ensuring compliance with industrial safety regulations.
  • Programming PLC & DCS systems (Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, or other IEC 61131-3 platforms).
  • Implementing automation solutions for modular process equipment and flow chemistry applications.
  • Working with instrumentation and control systems for high-precision process control.
  • Ensuring compliance with ATEX/IECEX standards for hazardous environments.
  • Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team to take projects from concept to full-scale production.

This role offers high freedom and independence, along with personal development opportunities through tailored training and challenging projects.

Who are we looking for?

We need an experienced engineer who can hit the ground running and contribute to cutting-edge work in process intensification and modular skid-based systems.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related (MBO Level 4 / HBO working & thinking level).
  • At least 3 years of industrial experience - preferably in fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or process skids.
  • Proficiency in EPLAN / WScad for electrical schematics.
  • ATEX/IECEX knowledge - understanding of explosion-proof electrical designs.
  • Hands-on experience with DCS/PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Emerson, ABB).
  • PLC programming skills - experience with TIA-Portal, Studio 5000, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems (flow meters, actuators, sensors).
  • Practical problem solver - able to troubleshoot and implement real-world solutions.
  • Fluent English, Dutch preferred (we provide language training if needed).
  • Living in, or willing to relocate/commute to, Zaltbommel (Den Bosch area).

What we offer

  • Career growth - Business coaching, training, and tailored development.
  • Unlimited holidays (as long as the work gets done).
  • Best-in-class salary & excellent pension.
  • Flexible work - autonomy in planning your projects.
  • Free books & training - continuous learning encouraged.
  • Comprehensive mobility plan.
  • Visa sponsorship & relocation support (if needed).
  • Free meals & casual perks (snacks, drinks, and a fun atmosphere).
