Electrical Design Engineer

PMK are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing Pre Construction Department. The role involves the design, development, and coordination of electrical building services systems across a range of projects, from concept through to completion.

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, clients, and other engineering disciplines to deliver high quality, compliant electrical designs, while supporting junior team members and contributing to continuous improvement within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop electrical design solutions in accordance with project briefs, applicable standards, and client requirements
• Produce and coordinate electrical design drawings and specifications, including:
• LV power distribution
• Lighting and emergency lighting systems
• Small power
• Schedules and schematics
• Undertake and review electrical calculations
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations, including BS 7671 and project specific requirements
• Coordinate electrical designs with other building services disciplines and architectural layouts
• Attend client, design, and coordination meetings as required
• Respond to technical queries during design development and construction phases
• Support the preparation of technical reports and design documentation
• Provide guidance and support to Junior Engineers and CAD Technicians
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, quality standards, and health & safety requirements

Project Involvement

The Electrical Design Engineer will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, including:

• Concept and feasibility design
• Detailed and technical design
• Tender and construction information
• Design coordination and construction support

Projects may include commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, education, or public sector developments.

Skills & Experience

• Electrical Engineering
• Electrical & Electronic Engineering
• Strong working knowledge of electrical building services systems
• Good understanding of UK electrical regulations and standards
• Ability to manage own workload and meet project deadlines
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Proficiency in Revit software
