Electrical / Controls Design Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for electrical / controls design engineers, preferably with industrial design experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large and small industrial projects.
  • Design electrical services packages in AutoCAD and Revit under the guidance of a senior electrical engineer.
  • Design MV and LV electrical systems, including MCCs, distribution boards, cabling, lighting, and emergency lighting.
  • Develop technical specifications, scopes of work, tender documentation, cable calculations, wiring diagrams, schematics, loop sheets, and other electrical deliverables.
  • Participate in constructability, safety, and quality reviews.
  • Design life safety systems, including fire alarms and security systems.
  • Support tender evaluation and bid analysis processes.
  • Conduct peer reviews as part of internal quality control procedures.
  • Conduct site visits to survey, monitor, review, and validate electrical installations as required.
  • Attend client and project team meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of formal experience in industrial electrical design; data centre experience is a plus.
  • Hands on experience with AutoCAD and BIM/Revit; familiarity with electrical design software such as SKM (PTW) is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering design services, including MV/LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting, small power, voice/data, cable containment, fire alarms, security, lightning protection, earthing and bonding, hazardous areas, and specialist control systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical engineering codes and standards.
  • Experience developing electrical protection systems, short circuit studies, arc flash analysis, and discrimination studies.
  • Ability to propose alternative solutions, implement value engineering, and adopt new technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
