Lead the delivery of elections, reviews and democratic programmes, ensuring legal compliance, strategic planning and high-quality service delivery. Management improvement projects, key partnerships, and a skilled team to strengthen democratic engagement across the borough.
Are you an experienced elections professional-or a skilled programme manager with a talent for interpreting legislation and delivering complex projects? If you're passionate about strengthening local democracy and ready to lead a high profile frontline service, this could be your next career step.
Cheshire West and Chester administers elections for almost 300,000 electors, four parliamentary constituencies, 45 wards and over 90 Town and Parish Councils. Our elections and electoral registration service operates year round, supported by a high performing team of multiskilled democracy professionals working within a programme based environment.
As Elections Programme Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of fair, transparent and legally compliant elections. You'll bring excellent organisational, project management, problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and translate it into clear, actionable plans. This is a fast paced, high pressure environment where accuracy and deadlines are critical-and you will be someone who thrives under those conditions.
Beyond your core responsibility for elections, you will also play a key role in delivering major democracy and governance projects. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your strategic experience and develop the skills needed for senior leadership roles within local government.
If this sounds like the challenge you're looking for, we would love to hear from you.
