EHS Specialist - Linehaul & Heavy Truck Operations

We are looking for an EHS Specialist focused on ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance across our heavy truck and linehaul operations in France. This role is vital in safeguarding our drivers, managing risks related to long-distance transport, and driving continuous safety improvements in our national logistics network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with French and EU regulations regarding heavy truck safety, driver working hours, vehicle standards, and environmental impact.
• Develop and enforce safety procedures related to long-haul driving, rest stops, fueling, loading/unloading, and yard operations.
• Conduct audits of linehaul routes, depots, and transportation hubs.
• Lead investigations into transport-related incidents, including collisions, mechanical failures, or regulatory breaches.
• Train drivers and dispatchers on defensive driving, fatigue management, emergency response, and hazardous goods handling (if applicable).
• Work closely with fleet and maintenance teams to ensure vehicles meet EHS standards.
• Promote safety culture among linehaul drivers and third-party carriers.
• Monitor EHS KPIs and report trends, risks, and corrective actions to leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Logistics, or related field.
• 3-5 years of EHS experience in road transport or heavy trucking operations.
• In-depth knowledge of French road transport regulations (e.g., Code de la route, EU tachograph law).
• Experience conducting driver safety audits and trainings.
• Strong analytical, communication, and incident management skills.
• Fluent in French; English proficiency strongly preferred.
