EHS Lead Waterford Manufacturing & Construction

EHS International is engaging a contractor on behalf ofa leading Irish manufacturing organisation for an experienced Environmental,Health & Safety (EHS) Lead to oversee EHS strategy and operationalexcellence across two major production facilities in the South East.

The Role

As EHS Lead, you will provideexpert leadership across all Environmental, Health & Safety activities,ensuring compliance with legislation while developing and implementingbest-in-class EHS systems, processes and initiatives.

Working closely with seniorleadership and operational teams, you will lead the EHS function across multiplesites, promote a proactive safety culture, and support business performancethrough effective risk management and governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor and developthe EHS team across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure compliance withall Environmental, Health & Safety legislation, permits and regulatoryrequirements.
  • Develop, implement andcontinuously improve EHS policies, procedures and management systems.
  • Management of ISO standards
  • Develop and manage riskmanagement programmes, business continuity planning and complianceinitiatives.
  • Lead environmental,health and safety communications, awareness campaigns and trainingprogrammes.
  • Support the accident/Incident investigationprocess to ensure that root cause can be implemented, and robustcorrective actions are completed
  • Lead accident andincident investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring robustcorrective actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate internal andexternal EHS reporting and regulatory submissions.
  • Drive continuousimprovement initiatives that enhance safety performance and operationalexcellence.
  • Promote a positive,collaborative and proactive safety culture across the business.
About You

We are looking for anexperienced EHS professional who combines strong technical knowledge withexcellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Third-level qualificationin Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of IrishEHS legislation and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in ISOauditing an advantage
  • Proven experience leadingincident investigations and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication,coaching and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational andproject management abilities.
  • Proficient in MicrosoftOffice and EHS management systems.
  • Strong leadership andpeople development skills.
  • Strategic thinker with acontinuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent risk managementand problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to build relationshipsand influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercial awareness witha practical approach to compliance and operational excellence.
  • Self-motivated, organisedand capable of managing multiple priorities.
