MRD Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting an EHS Engineer on behalf of a well-established, global manufacturing organisation based in the Port Glasgow area.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing Environmental, Health & Safety team, with a strong focus on environmental compliance, continuous improvement, and driving a positive safety culture across site.
The RoleReporting into the EHS leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring the business meets all environmental, health & safety regulations, while supporting the development and continuous improvement of EHS systems and processes.
This role has a strong emphasis on environmental compliance, alongside broader health & safety responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with EHS policies, procedures, and UK legislation
Support the development and improvement of EHS systems, reporting, and processes
Manage and maintain the incident reporting and investigation system
Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits across site
Monitor and ensure compliance with ISO14001 & ISO45001 standards
Maintain PPC permits, including emissions monitoring and reporting to regulatory bodies (e.g. SEPA)
Support COSHH documentation and safe systems of work
Deliver EHS training and promote a strong safety culture
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across environmental and safety performance
Manage waste programmes and environmental objectives
NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent) with experience in an EHS role
Strong understanding of environmental and health & safety legislation
Experience working with ISO14001 and/or ISO45001
Background in manufacturing, engineering, or a regulated environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Experience with environmental permits / PPC / emissions reporting
Internal auditing experience (ISO/OHSAS)
Background in semiconductor, chemical, or food manufacturing
