EHS Advisor Pre-Construction Maynooth, Ireland €50,000 €70,000 We are currently recruiting for an experienced EHS Advisor to join an international construction organisation supporting the pre-construction phase of major projects across Europe. This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional looking to move into a more strategic, pre-construction-focused role, with the opportunity to influence health, safety and environmental considerations from the earliest stages of major developments. The business delivers complex projects across sectors including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Data Centres, Logistics and Industrial. You ll work closely with Pre-Construction Managers, Design Teams, Estimators, Project Directors, Clients and Supply Chain Partners, ensuring EHS is embedded into project planning, design, procurement and delivery strategies before construction begins. The Opportunity Rather than focusing solely on site-based compliance, this role will give you the opportunity to influence how projects are designed and planned from an EHS perspective. You'll contribute to bids, design reviews, construction methodologies, procurement strategies and project planning, helping identify risks early and develop practical solutions before they reach site. Key Responsibilities Health & Safety Champion a proactive EHS culture throughout the pre-construction process. Provide EHS input into bid submissions, tenders and project planning. Review designs to identify and mitigate construction and operational risks. Support Design Risk Management and Prevention Through Design principles. Develop project-specific EHS strategies, objectives and plans. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, client requirements and internal standards. Participate in design reviews and constructability workshops. Identify high-risk activities and ensure suitable controls are considered during planning. Pre-Construction & Project Support Support project teams in developing safe construction methodologies. Contribute to logistics planning, site layout reviews and temporary works risk assessments. Assist with contractor and supply chain prequalification. Assess the EHS implications of proposed construction methods and programme strategies. Work closely with design and project teams to ensure EHS considerations are integrated from the outset. Environmental & Sustainability Advise project teams on environmental compliance requirements. Support sustainable construction practices within project planning. Promote waste reduction, carbon reduction and environmental protection initiatives. Assist with client sustainability objectives and project certifications where required. Client & Stakeholder Engagement Act as the EHS representative during client meetings, design reviews and project kick-offs. Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. Provide practical EHS advice throughout the project lifecycle. Confidently communicate EHS requirements and influence project decisions. Governance & Continuous Improvement Keep up to date with legislation, industry developments and EHS best practice. Contribute to the development and improvement of EHS policies and procedures. Review trends, lessons learned and project feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. Support incident investigations and communicate lessons learned across the wider business. About You We are looking for an EHS professional with: A degree qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline. A recognised professional EHS qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma, Level 8/9 or equivalent. Minimum 5 years' experience within construction, engineering or industrial project environments. Experience supporting large-scale construction projects during pre-construction and planning phases. Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation and standards. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills. The ability to work collaboratively with design, commercial, project and procurement teams. A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge and influence project decisions.
