EHCP Coordinator
£31.13 per hour (Inside IR35)
3 month contract (initial)
Hybrid - 1-2 days a week onsite, Greater London area
We are seeking an experienced EHCP Coordinator to join a busy SEND service within a local authority. This role will focus on Preparing for Adulthood (PfA), ensuring young people with SEND aged 14-25 receive the right assessments, support, and provision through high-quality Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a defined caseload of EHCPs, coordinating the full statutory process from assessment through to final plans.
- Liaise with families, schools, colleges, health and social care providers, ensuring effective multi-agency working.
- Lead and monitor Annual Reviews, ensuring plans remain up to date and provision is delivered.
- Support transitions, phase transfers and Preparing for Adulthood pathways, ensuring young people have clear transition plans.
- Present cases at relevant panels and make placement decisions in line with statutory requirements.
- Draft and finalise high-quality EHCP documents and maintain accurate casework records.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and the SEN Code of Practice, with particular experience in Preparing for Adulthood (PfA).
- Proven experience managing the EHCP process within a local authority or education setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise statutory documents.
- Confidence in working with families, young people, and multi-agency professionals.
- Strong organisational and case management skills, working to tight statutory deadlines.
- Experience of SEND transitions, including NEET pathways and post-16 provision.
- Resilience and the ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
