We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for their manufacturing site in Navan, Co. Meath. This role will oversee all EHS across production and offices and ensure compliance with EPA licence and ISO regulations.
Ideal candidates will have prior EHS experience within a manufacturing environment and hold a degree in health and safety or a related discipline. Knowledge of Safety and Environmental Management Systems and experience dealing with HSA, EPA and IPPC is required. Additional knowledge of COMAH and ATEX processes is welcomed.
You should also be a people leader, be well organized and an excellent communicator, able to motivate a team and multi-task.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Responsible for implementing and supporting the H&S Management system and proactive in developing site Zero Harm capabilities.
- Actively participate in daily meetings, updating management team on H&S issues.
- Develop, implement and update health and safety policies & procedures.
- Ensure H&S legislation compliance.
- Environmental monitoring and reporting.
- Preparation of all environmental reports for the EA and local authorities, liaison with government bodies on an ongoing basis.
- Conduct on-site risk assessments and review current risk assessments.
- Carry out induction and ongoing training programme for new employees and employees returning to work. Maintain comprehensive training records.
- Conduct accident investigations and implement timely corrective actions.
- Educate and coach managers and employees on how best to improve the safety and performance of their teams.
- Maintenance of Fire Safety Register.
- Chair site safety committees.
- Manage and coach direct report H&S Coordinator.
- Managing waste movements in and out of facility and ensuring waste movements are in compliance with government regulations.
- Liaison with operations on a daily basis to ensure site compliance.
- Site assessments, internal auditing, keeping daily/weekly records. Updated policies and procedures as required.
- Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management.
- Undertake flexible working hours as may be required to meet business needs.
