Applications are invited for an experienced and motivated Mortuary Manager to join the team at the new NHS Grampian integrated Mortuary (opened November 2025). This position will provide mortuary facilities for Aberdeen city, Aberdeenshire, Moray, the Northern Isles, Crown Office Procurator Fiscal Service and Police Scotland in a purpose-built facility. The post holder will lead the operations of the Mortuary services, ensuring the highest standards of care, dignity and professionalism for the deceased and their families while managing a skilled team and ensuring compliance with all legal, health and safety requirements.

The post holder will be qualified to degree level in a relevant science subject and have a Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology Level 4, accompanied by demonstrable knowledge gained through training and experience.

Additional Information for Candidates

As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
