The Opportunity
EDD Manager
As an EDD Manager, you will play a critical role in Alpha Group's financial crime risk management framework, focusing on high-risk clients and complex cases. Reporting directly to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), you will be the main escalation point for the Transaction Monitoring and Onboarding teams, ensuring robust processes and compliance with applicable regulations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client base, including high-risk clients, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
•Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): Lead the EDD process for high-risk clients, including comprehensive reviews and approvals, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and Alpha Group's risk appetite
.
•Escalation Point: Serve as the primary contact for escalations from Transaction Monitoring and Onboarding teams, providing guidance and resolution on complex financial crime concerns.
•High-Risk Client Management: Oversee due diligence for high-risk clients, assessing their risk profile and ensuring ongoing monitoring.
•Transaction Analysis: Support the investigation of suspicious transactions flagged during monitoring, ensuring thorough documentation and timely resolution.
• Policy and Procedure Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement
of AML/EDD policies and procedures, incorporating best practices and evolving
regulatory standards.
• Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to team members, promoting
awareness and understanding of EDD requirements and high-risk client management.
• Regulatory Reporting: Assist the MLRO with the preparation of regulatory reports,
including Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and periodic filings.
• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Business units to
foster a culture of compliance and mitigate financial crime risks.
Skills & Experience Required
• Experience: At least 3 years' experience in a second-line financial crime role, with a
focus on EDD and managing high-risk clients.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of AML and Sanctions regulations, KYC principles,
and risk management frameworks in the financial services sector.
• Skills: Analytical and investigative skills with the ability to manage complex cases and
resolve escalations efficiently.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to
engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Qualifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) are highly desirable.
• Attributes: A proactive and detail-oriented individual with a commitment to maintaining
the highest compliance standards.
