We are seeking to appoint a passionate and committed teacher to join our supportive and welcoming team. The role is likely to be in lower Key Stage 2 (though we do have some flexibility) and would suit a newly qualified teacher or someone in the early stages of their career.
We are very proud that Binley Woods Primary School is such a friendly, nurturing and welcoming school. It is set in beautiful grounds, situated on the edge of Rugby and close to Coventry. We had an Ofsted inspection in May 2023 and the school was judged to be 'Good'. We are committed to ensuring we 'grow every child' both academically and personally. We work closely with all in our community, governors and families to give the children in our care a wonderful school experience where each child can fulfil their potential. We offer fantastic children, a supportive, ambitious senior leadership team and a highly collaborative staff body.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the primary school curriculum. They will have demonstrated excellent standards on teaching practices and a strong work ethic during their training and/ or employment. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about teaching and inclusion and who knows the importance of supporting children with additional needs, including children with EHCPs. We believe that building relationships with children and families is key to children's success and happiness and we are looking for a teacher who shares this belief. We would also like the ideal candidate to be able to work well with other classroom practitioners to support the needs of all the children in the class.
We can offer strong support from an experienced mentor for those undertaking the Early Careers Programme working with Coventry and Warwickshire Teaching School Hub (based at Lawrence Sherriff). Your ECT training would include face to face sessions. We dedicate time to our staff and are highly supportive as we want you to be able to grow in confidence and professionalism.
The role can be offered from September 2026.
Key Requirements- Qualified teacher status (or expected to achieve this)
- Good or outstanding practice with high expectations for achievement and behaviour for ALL children, including those with SEND
- A sound understanding of the primary school curriculum
- A good understanding of how children learn to read
- A nurturing approach which values relationships
- A drive to support the whole school vision
- Dedication and a willingness to contribute to the whole school ethos
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills allowing you to be a wonderful team member
