EAL Teaching Assistant Full-Time September Start

An outstanding and inclusive South London secondary school is recruiting a dedicated EAL Teaching Assistant to join its thriving EAL department on a full time basis from September.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one to one and small group intervention for EAL learners.
• Support students working at Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 English proficiency.
• Assist students with speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
• Help pupils access lessons across the secondary curriculum.
• Work closely with teachers and the EAL department to monitor student progress.
• Promote confidence, inclusion and academic achievement.
• Support newly arrived students as they settle into school life.

Person Specification

• Experience working with children, young people or EAL learners.
• A CELTA, TEFL, ESOL or equivalent qualification (desirable).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for supporting multilingual learners.
• A desire to pursue a career in teaching, education or educational support.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a busy secondary school.
