Senior Engineer E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation)

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer E&I to join our Engineering department. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical and instrumentation systems used in (automated) sampling installations for the oil and gas industry.

As a key player in multidisciplinary project teams, you will ensure that our solutions meet the highest safety and quality standards, with a strong focus on compliance and documentation. You will work closely with mechanical, process, and software engineers to deliver integrated, reliable systems tailored to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specification of electrical and instrumentation components for sampling systems.
• Development of electrical schematics, cable schedules, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Selection and specification of measurement and control equipment (e.g. pressure sensors, flow meters, analytical instruments).
• Preparation and review of complete technical documentation in line with applicable standards.
• Ensuring compliance with ATEX, IECEx, NEN 1010, NEN 3140, and other relevant safety regulations.
• Coordination of assembly, installation, and testing phases, including FAT and SAT support.
• Acting as a technical contact for suppliers and customers throughout the project.
• Providing technical support to service and maintenance teams.

Who Are We Looking For?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a similar field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in E&I engineering, preferably in oil & gas or industrial environments.
• Solid knowledge of explosion protection (ATEX), NEN standards, and IEC regulations.
• Proficiency in EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar electrical design tools.
• Familiarity with process instrumentation and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with PLCs and control systems is a plus.
• Strong documentation skills and a proactive approach to regulatory compliance.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
• A team player who can also work independently and with a high level of precision.

Work Environment & Safety

You will be based at our office in Ridderkerk and will regularly be present in our production facility during assembly phases. Safety is a top priority; safety shoes are required in the production and warehouse areas. The position involves moderate physical and mental engagement, with a strong emphasis on precision and adherence to safety protocols.
