Job Description
Long-Term GP Locum Opportunity (4-6 sessions) Dunblane Medical Practice Forth Valley

Not quite ready for a permanent role-but wondering if the right practice might tempt you next year?

Dunblane Medical Practice is offering something a little different: a long-term GP locum post (4-6 sessions) designed as a genuine "try before you buy" experience. Come and see what working with us is actually like-no pressure, no permanent commitment, just a chance to experience the reality behind the job description.

What this role really is

This is not a "parachute in, see 40 patients, and disappear" locum post. It is:

  • Time to get to know the team, the systems, and the patients
  • Space to work at a sustainable pace (max 22 patients per day routine surgeries and shared on call as part of a team)
  • An honest opportunity to assess whether Dunblane Medical Practice could be somewhere you'd consider putting down roots

If it feels right for both sides, there is the potential for a permanent post from 2027, but equally, if it's not for you, you leave with experience gained and no awkwardness.

Why Dunblane?
  • A friendly, stable practice with an experienced and supportive clinical team
  • A well-organised practice that values professionalism
  • Regular multi-disciplinary team meetings and, more importantly, the daily protected coffee break
  • A full complement of on-site ancillary staff including pharmacotherapy, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, PCMHNs, Advanced Physio Practitioners, CTAC, Treatment Room, District Nursing and Health Visiting teams
  • GP Training Practice supporting Medical Students Years 3-5 from Glasgow and Dundee along with GPST Registrars
  • A beautiful town setting, with excellent links to Stirling, Perth, and Glasgow
Who this might suit
  • A GP returning from time out, portfolio work, or maternity/paternity leave
  • A newly qualified GP wanting a safe and supportive practice experience
  • A salaried or locum GP curious about something more settled-but not ready to commit just yet
  • Also happy to hear from locums willing to commit until early 2027, who are not looking for anything more permanent
In plain terms
  • Sessions: 4-6 (flexible)
  • Start: By mutual agreement
  • Status: Locum, with potential view to permanency
  • ETHOS: Come and see if we're right for you
Interested?

If you'd like an informal conversation, a visit, or just to ask a few honest questions, we'd love to hear from you.
