Salary Information
  • C1 Licence Holders: Starting salary of £27,688 per year.
  • Hourly Rates: Starting at £14.01 per hour + Regular Overtime.

The Role: Impact Your Community

Based out of Dumfries Vehicle Base, you will play a vital role in the Scottish Justice System.

Your Day-to-Day
  • Welfare & Security: Ensure the dignity, care, and safety of individuals in your custody.
  • Professional Liaison: Work closely with police and court authorities, managing essential risk assessments and legal documentation.
  • Internal Growth: We prioritise internal promotion-many of our current managers started as Custody Officers at this very base.
  • Safe Transit: Transport prisoners between courts, police stations, and prisons throughout the region.
What We're Looking For

You don't need prior experience in the justice sector-we provide full, comprehensive training. We are looking for:

  • Driving Credentials: A full UK Driver's Licence is essential. (Please highlight if you already hold a Category C1 licence.)
  • Reliability: A trustworthy individual who takes pride in a stable, essential role.
  • Communication: The ability to remain calm, professional, and empathetic in a fast paced environment.
