We are recruiting a Domestic Assistant (20 hours) to work in Pathology, playing an integral role in ensuring a clean environment for our laboratory staff and visitors.
As part of a team, you will support the busy laboratories and departments in North Bristol NHS Trust, providing high-quality, responsive, efficient, and effective cleaning services.
Shift DetailsCovering cleaning and waste management for a 24/7 laboratory service. Work a shift from Monday to Friday. Available shift: 07:00 - 11:00 (20 hours per post).
Responsibilities- Carrying out cleaning duties as instructed.
- Cleaning laboratories and offices, including communal areas, stairs, corridors, lifts, and toilets.
- Cleaning in accordance with scheduled times.
- Washing, mopping, sweeping and dusting floors.
- Damp dust furniture, fittings, edges, ledges, paintwork walls and doors.
- Ensuring waste is correctly segregated and disposing of rubbish bins with appropriate replacement bags following Trust waste policy.
- Maintaining safe hygiene practices and procedures in accordance with Trust policy and code of practice.
- Keeping domestic trolleys clean, fully stocked, and tidy.
- Cleaning equipment thoroughly after use, including vacuum cleaners and filter maintenance.
- Replenishing consumables such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels.
- Reporting faults, accidents, and dangerous occurrences to management and completing accident forms.
- Checking equipment prior to use and reporting any faults to the manager.
- Keeping updated with changes to cleaning products and ensuring correct cleaning procedures are followed.
Experience delivering excellent cleaning standards; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
