Job Description
Documentation Operations Manager

Bentley's software powers critical infrastructure worldwide, and our documentation ecosystem supports hundreds of thousands of users each month. We are investing in a coordinated, modernized documentation experience, and we're seeking a Documentation Operations Manager to operationalize standards, workflows, and tooling across dozens of product teams and their embedded technical writers.

In this individual contributor role, you will be responsible for the systematic production, maintenance, and optimization of documentation across the company - ensuring consistent quality, smooth workflows, and reliable publishing. You will partner closely with writers, product teams, Release Services, and our growing Documentation Community of Practice (CoP). This role focuses on enabling distributed writers and improving productivity, not taking ownership of content creation itself.

Responsibilities
  • Operationalize documentation standards across all product groups, helping ensure consistency in structure, style, formatting, and publishing workflows.
  • Support and enable distributed technical writers, guiding them through tooling, processes, and best practices without taking over their content work.
  • Manage documentation tooling and workflows, including structured content authoring, review processes, translation pipelines, and publication frameworks.
  • Partner with the Documentation CoP, helping standardize production methods, share best practices, and onboard new contributors across the company.
  • Drive documentation process scalability, ensuring teams can maintain, refresh, and extend content efficiently and consistently.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to align documentation operations with product roadmaps and release cycles.
  • Contribute to documentation governance models that promote cross product alignment and measurable quality improvements.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience indocumentation operations, content systems, structured authoring, technical writing or technical content production across multiple product lines or teams.
  • Strong familiarity with documentation tooling ecosystems, structured content workflows, and content lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority, enabling writers and stakeholders across complex organizations.
  • Experience improving processes, establishing best practices, and driving convergence in environments with distributed teams or multiple toolchains.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and change leadership skills.
  • An attractive salary and benefits package.
  • A commitment to inclusion, belonging, and colleague well being through global initiatives and resource groups.
