About Our Client
My client, a well-known global transport group worth over £800m, has more than 30 years of expertise in public transport and customer experience in the UK. Since 2015, they have expanded internationally, winning multiple contracts across five countries including Australia and Singapore.
The group was sold in 2022 to a consortium of overseas investors. It is now led by a new Executive Leadership team with a strategy focused on profitable growth and sustainability.
The company is based in South London and operates a 5-day in-office work policy.
Job Description
As the Finance Director for the group's largest division, with an annual turnover of approximately £600m, you will lead the entire finance function, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business.
This key role involves strategic financial planning, process improvement, driving financial performance, providing commercial insights, and maintaining robust financial controls across the company.
The Finance Director will collaborate closely with the executive team to align financial strategies with the company's overall objectives and long-term vision.
The Successful Applicant
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Big 4 or Top 6 experience preferred
- Experience managing large finance teams
- Experience in contract tendering
- Background in dynamic and complex organizations
- Proactive in driving change
- Knowledge of industry-specific finance processes
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across finance, procurement, operations, engineering, etc.
- Responsive, able to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality output
- Experience level suitable for a similar role or ready to step up
- Flexible with communication outside of working hours due to industry demands
- Proven ability to deliver clear, concise reports and present to senior stakeholders effectively
