District Manager Grade 9

The Responsive Repairs Unit are responsible for the maintenance of all Cardiff Council domestic housing stock, including Temporary Accommodation, Community Living Complexes, Supported Accommodation, individual rooms and communal areas of blocks of flats. The service area is a fast paced provision constantly changing and dealing with contentious issues that need to be resolved quickly

About the Job

The District Manager will work along side others in the post and be responsible for different sections of the service we provide. As well as working as a team the post holder will need to work as an individual dealing with issues within their remit of the service. You will also be responsible for Technical Managers and Qualified Technical Managers who supervise the in house teams of tradespersons and external contractors.

What we are looking for from you

The successful candidate will ensure an excellent responsive repairs service is delivered for an area of the City, providing management support to teams ensuring a high quality of customer service. The post holder will also oversee the work of contractors on a day-to-day basis ensuring performance indicators are met. You will have a relevant qualification such as a HNC in Construction/Building, or equivalent experience in a Managerial role within the construction industry. You must have excellent communications skills, with a strong track record of managing resources effectively, achieving excellent performance and providing excellent outcomes for customers.
