District Judge

NIJAC is inviting applications for the office of District Judge, which will be held concurrently with the office of Deputy County Court Judge. It is intended to make one appointment and maintain a reserve list for 12 months from the date of the first appointment.
To be eligible for appointment as a District Judge a person must, by closing date of applications:
- a member of the Bar of Northern Ireland of at least ten years' standing; or
- a solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland of at least ten years' standing.
Salary:£139,469per annum. This post is pensionable.

Section 107 (1) of the Judicature (NI) Act 1978 provides for the aggregation of years' standing for holding office of solicitors who have been barristers, and vice versa.
