Job Description
My client is a legal 500 law firm, seeking a newly qualified to 1 year post-qualification solicitor to join their growing Dispute Resolution team.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in both property and civil/commercial litigation, with a strong background in working with privately paying clients.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing a varied litigation caseload across property and commercial disputes.
- Advising clients on legal options and strategy, and progressing cases efficiently and effectively.
- Delivering a high standard of client care and maintaining regular and clear communication.
- Handling correspondence, negotiations, and, where appropriate, conducting advocacy.
- Recording time accurately, ensuring timely billing, and assisting with department operations.
- Staying current with legal developments relevant to your practice area.
- Supporting junior team members as appropriate and collaborating across departments.
- Engaging in business development activities and building client relationships.
- NQ to 1 year PQE with practical experience in litigation.
- Experience in property litigation, including landlord possession claims, disrepair, tenancy disputes, leasehold issues, service charge disputes, and breaches of lease.
- Experience in commercial litigation, particularly contractual disputes.
- Background in privately funded client work (individuals and SMEs).
- Strong advocacy skills (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong IT skills and commercial awareness.
- Current Practicing Certificate.
