Job Description

We are looking for a part-time dispenser (18 hours per week) on a temporary basis for six months. The dispensary is within the GP practice and serves approximately 1000 patients. You would be part of a small team of dispensers, pharmacists and pharmacy technician.

Main duties of the job
  • Accurately dispense prescriptions in line with legal and practice requirements
  • Process repeat prescriptions and manage medication queries
  • Provide excellent patient service at the dispensary counter
  • Maintain stock control and ensure proper storage of medicines
  • Work closely with GPs, nurses, and the wider practice team
About us

The dispensary team forms part of the larger organisation at St. Andrew's Medical Practice. We are a large practice of 15800 patients and a multi-disciplinary team of GPs, ANPs, Paramedics, Nurses, Physiotherapist, Health Care Assistants, Dispensers and Admin. We occupy a modern, purpose built surgery in the centre of the town.

Job responsibilities

St Andrews Medical Practice is seeking a motivated and reliable Dispenser to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified dispenser to work within a busy GP practice dispensary, providing high-quality service and safe, accurate dispensing of prescriptions to our patients.

About You
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) essential
  • Experience working in a pharmacy or GP dispensary
  • Excellent attention to detail and IT skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications
