Dispenser

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Dispenser to join our friendly GP practice team in Cricklade. The successful candidate will support the safe and accurate dispensing of medications to our patients while delivering high standards of customer service.

Main duties of the job

Processing and dispensing prescriptions accurately

Managing repeat prescription requests

Maintaining accurate medication records

Stock control and ordering

Liaising with GPs, nurses, and community pharmacies

Ensuring compliance with NHS and CQC requirements

Job responsibilities

The Dispenser will be responsible for the accurate preparation and dispensing of prescriptions in line with practice protocols and NHS regulations. The role includes processing repeat prescriptions, maintaining accurate medication records, managing stock levels, and providing professional assistance to patients with prescription queries. The Dispenser will work closely with GPs, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure a safe and efficient dispensing service.

Person Specification Experience

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good IT and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• IT skills and experience using clinical systems (SystmOne)
• Experience of working in primary care
